At the intersection of two historic buildings, an alleyway of brick and light lead to an open space on the main floor of the White Stag Block. Known as the Light Court or Commons, this area is more than just a way to get to the library, the Skidmore Lobby or the event space.
It is an exhibition space. A place to gather. A place to rest.
Artists — student, faculty and professional — go through a selection process to show work in the space. Receptions and lectures make the space buzz. And comfy chairs and tables give visitors and students a place to pause.
The University of Oregon in Portland is currently accepting proposals for exhibitions that research, explore and present global issues in art and design.
