Maintaining your Health

UO Portland partners with Portland State University Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) to provide health, counseling, and dental services to Portland-based students. Health Services enhances overall health and safety by providing primary health care to students, health education, outreach activities, and emergency care. The mandatory Student Health Fee included in UO tuition pays for the majority of services at SHAC, excluding some such as labs, x-rays, and dental services. If you paid spring term PSU Student Health Fee, you can still utilize SHAC services over the summer. SHAC is staffed by a plethora of medical professionals and provides:

  • Crisis intervention and response
  • Sexual assault evaluation and counseling
  • Crisis counseling, individual and group therapy
  • Immediate and routine medical care including women’s annual exams, STI screenings, smoking cessation, health education, and travel vaccinations and counseling
  • Emergency and routine dental care
  • Testing services for those with ADA accommodations, proctored academic exams, standardized dancing, licensure and employment testing,  learning disability testing, and psycho-educational evaluative testing
  • Communicable disease management
