The Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) serves as a link between the labor community and the University of Oregon's wealth of resources, providing educational programs and research in the field of labor relations.
LERC's Portland-area activities can be found on the LERC website and consist of noncredit education classes, conferences, and programs for working people and their unions. These events are intended to foster creative and critical thinking, to develop the capacity of unions as vital organizations for enhancing workers' rights, and to help workers develop skills and knowledge for labor leadership. In addition, LERC's Portland faculty members conduct applied research and provide technical assistance to workers, unions, public agencies, and others.
