As Carl Elaphante said, 'the greenest building is the one already built.' When the White Stag reoccupies an existing building, energy already committed to the existing structure was preserved.
Here you will find how the White Stag Project has reduced its impact through the use of recycled materials, used regional supplies, and salvaged and reused existing materials. Further, energy required to heat water is reduced by limiting where hot water to where it is needed most: On the 2nd floor and above hot water is only available at janitor sinks.
