AHA International
AHA International, a program of the University of Oregon, was founded in 1957. We provide study abroad programs for students, international teaching opportunities for faculty members, and internationalization support for universities throughout the United States.
AHA provides programs in twenty cities in fourteen counties in Western Europe, Oceania, Latin America, and Africa. Our programs combine rigorous academic inquiry with an intentional approach to the rich experiential learning opportunities provided by study abroad. We offer excellent administrative support; comprehensive stateside student services and advising; expert on-site staffing; housing and homestay coordination; excursion planning; and marketing assistance through published materials and integrated marketing communications strategy development.
AHA partners with leading universities and university consortia to provide academically challenging study abroad experiences for students, teaching abroad opportunities for faculty members, and collaboration opportunities for academic institutions.
Our current consortia partners include:
- The Northwest Council on Study Abroad (NCSA)—AHA partner since 1964
- The Midwest Consortium for Study Abroad (MCSA)—AHA partner since 1987
- The Independent Liberal Arts Colleges Abroad (ILACA)—AHA partner since 1976
- The Pennsylvania Colleges in Cologne (PCIC)—AHA partner since 1989
In addition, we partner with various independent U.S. universities. While academic leadership for most programs still remains with sponsoring consortia, we welcome affiliation with any university interested in working directly with us to send students on our existing programs and to develop international initiatives that serve university needs, such as research, faculty-led programming, administrative support, and facilities rentals. Nonconsortia institutions may partner with AHA to send students on existing programs; use our facilities and infrastructure abroad; and develop new academic programs abroad.
