Building Access & UO ID Cards
When are buildings open?
Each building has a combination of public hours and card access hours. Current hours are posted on the Getting Here website, linked below.
Why do I need two cards?
Employees and students will need two cards – one to access buildings on the Portland campus and the other is your official UO identification card. Think of the access card as a key.
How do I request a building access card?
Faculty and staff should use the online form to request a NE Portland access card. A duck ID is required.
Student access cards go through a different process to accommodate the volume of requests.
How do I get or replace my UO ID?
Can I use the gym and fields?
Employees must sign a waiver to gain access to these spaces. The gym will be under construction through spring 2026 to provide accessibility to new locker area with showers and changing area, among other updates. Access to the basketball court, workout machines and other exercise equipment will remain throughout construction.
How do I request a change of access or a physical office key?
This form can be used to request hard keys for some offices and access to additional/different spaces for those who already have a card for the northeast campus.
How do student employees get an access card?
All UO Portland students will receive an access card through the student process at the start of the academic year. Supervisors can ask for additional access to space for a student employee by using the Access Request Form.
What if I lose or find a card?
Contact the Campus Security office if you lose your access or ID card, or to turn in any you find.
503-412-3700
The Campus Security Office is located on the first floor of the UO Portland Campus Center.
Transportation & Parking
Do I need a parking permit?
A small number of individually marked “visitor parking” spaces are strategically located and signed on campus and do not need a virtual permit. However, they are limited to two-hour parking.
All motorized vehicles are required to annually obtain a no-cost virtual P-zone parking permit through UO Transportation Services.
Where can I lock my bike?
Bike racks are located throughout campus near building entrances.
A limited amount of bike locker storage is available each term. It reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. To request a bike locker, fill out the online form.
All bicycles should be registered with Project 529. Free 529 decals are available at the Student Life & Belonging Office in the UO Portland Campus Center.
Where do I park?
Numerous parking lots are available on campus: around the south and east sides of the recreation field; at the corner of NE Holman Street & NE 27th Avenue by the west side of the UO Portland Campus Center and Innovation Building; and between Highland Hall and the gymnasium.
All vehicles are subject to UO’s standard parking regulations, including restrictions on ADA parking, fire lanes, posted time limits, etc. and are subject to vehicle citation(s) and/or tow if applicable regulations are not followed.
Facility Maintenance, Custodial, and Construction Services
How do I get help with custodial issues?
To get help or report a problem such as spills, trash or cleaning, fill out the Work Control request form.
UO employees can receive training for the university service request portal. Email workcontrolcenter@uoregon.edu to request access to available MyTrack training. A duck ID is required.
What is a maintenance request?
Maintenance Requests are issued to Facility Services to provide maintenance and repairs to the existingbuilding components and site elements.
Some examples include repairs to existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, interior finishes patching and touch up painting, building alarm systems, carpet cleaning, elevator, building exterior, and site components.
What is a project request?
Project Requests are issued to Design and Construction to change, modify, or add to the existing conditions of the building or site. This is considered new construction and most often requires a level of design, permitting, and construction to implement.
Some common examples include new electrical outlets, new flooring, new doors and windows, new furniture, reconfiguring of spaces, repainting with new colors, wall removal, individual office and office suite renovations.
What about urgent requests after hours?
How do I get help with technology?
Information Services and User Support Services hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Friday and business hours on Saturday.
For help with internet, Wi-Fi, computers, technology, and printers, call 541-346-HELP or submit an online service request.
Internet, Wi-Fi & Cellular
The NE Portland campus is connected to the UO network and WiFi is available through UO Secure and UO Guest. Cell phone coverage in some campus buildings is challenging and connectivity may be enhanced by using “WiFi calling” when possible.
Employees can register their devices by submitting a help request through the UO Service Portal.
Classroom AV Support
Printers
Employees will be set up to use their departmental printer.
Common-area printers, such as the ones in the UO Portland Library and computer labs, use the PaperCut system.
