New year and new vision for UO Portland

Jane Gordon stands next to a brick wall and a window.

Happy new year.

UO Portland begins 2017 with a vision.  We worked collaboratively, most intensively with the deans of each UO school or college, and with other UO internal and external constituents, to create a broad vision to inspire and guide us as we engage in strategic planning.  Over the next several months, we will develop specific and measurable activities and goals that will serve as a road map that we can follow towards our vision.  I encourage you to read the vision and to let me know if you have ideas about any strategies we should consider.

We also start 2017 with our Lundquist College of Business programs moving across the street into their new space, with an enhanced student services presence, and with continued programs and events connecting us with our Portland community.  More on all of these accomplishments and stories will appear in upcoming Portland editions of Around the O.  I hope that our e-news, launched this past September, has been interesting and informative.  If you know of someone who might appreciate receiving this twice monthly e-newsletter, or if you have any feed-back, please let me know.

And, here’s to a productive and connected 2017!

Best,

Jane Gordon
