During inclement weather, UO Portland campuses will close at the discretion of senior leadership. You will receive a UO Alert notifying you of a closure for the day no later than 6 a.m. 

Notifications will be sent to all major AM/FM radio and television stations in the Portland area and will be posted to the UO Portland website. Please see HR Policies for detailed closure guidance. Campus closures include both the Downtown and NE Portland campus.

Note: This process is a change from past procedure, as we will no longer follow Portland State University’s closure guidance. 

Students: Please check in with your instructor if the campus is closed to see if the class will be held remotely. 

UO Alert Portland

The same system used on campus to communicate closure notices is also utilized at UO Portland. Register your cell phone to receive text alerts on DuckWeb. All Portland-based staff and students are automatically signed up to receive these alerts. Unfortunately, we are unable to opt out of UOAlerts for the Eugene campus, while still receiving UOAlerts for Portland.
