About
Alex Weinstein is a Portland-based editor, educator, and graduate writing coach with more than 20 years of experience helping scholars and creative writers bring clarity and confidence to their work.
With degrees from Brown University and Mills College—and a graduate certificate in teaching adult learners—she has supported over 250 writers across disciplines and around the world. Alex is both the dissertation style editor and an adjunct faculty member in Lewis & Clark’s EdD program. Before bringing her services to UO Portland, she provided dissertation coaching and editing to UO Eugene students across all departments for four years.
Her freelance practice spans scholarly manuscripts, higher‑ed textbooks, and literary projects, with a particular interest in work by female, nonbinary, and queer authors. She is also at work on a book exploring Chris Kraus, Kierkegaard, early ’60s rock ’n’ roll, and female subjectivity.
