In response to student interest and the careful way in which our community has engaged, UO Portland will be increasing the hours it is open. Beginning March 1st, the White Stag building will be open Monday - Friday from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m..
We will be gathering building traffic data to confirm these increased hours are being utilized when making the decision about maintaining these hours throughout spring term. Students in any UO program can utilize the White Stag building for studying, including in the library located on the first floor of the White Stag. Naito building hours depend upon staff/student staff coverage of the Innovation Lab. Efforts are being made to extend the current hours in the Naito lab – more information is forthcoming.
Library hours will continue to be Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
It is essential that everyone continues to consistently follow COVID-19 health and safety measures. This includes performing a symptom self-check before coming to campus, maintaining six feet of distance from others, following healthy handwashing steps, and wearing face coverings at all times (except for in designated eating and drinking rooms).
I want to emphasize that eating and drinking are only allowed in designated eating and drinking rooms, in the White Stag building rooms 150 and 555, and in Naito in room 204. Employees may eat alone in their private office with the door closed. Additionally, in order to maintain six feet of distance, please do not move tables or chairs in either building. If tables or chairs need to be moved, please put in a facilities ticket.
As a reminder, we encourage students, faculty, and staff to follow the advice of our safety officers (walk with others, be aware of your surroundings) when leaving campus and to take advantage of our SafeWalk program. A security officer is available to walk you to your nearby transit stop or vehicle.
I welcome any questions you may have.
