Welcome to the Portland Around the O e-news

Jane Gordon stands next to a brick wall and a window.

Dear friends, colleagues, and alumni,

I am thrilled to welcome you to our inaugural issue of Around the O, Portland edition.

This e-news will keep you apprised of the many programs, activities, achievements and events associated with UO Portland.

As we enter the 2016-17 academic year, we have approximately 400 students returning to White Stag Block in Old Town Chinatown. These students are primarily seeking a professional master’s degree in programs focused in subjects ranging from architecture to strategic communication to law to sports product design and management. We are eager to tell the stories of how these students and our faculty are helping shape our community and state through their ideas, creativity and innovations.

UO Portland also hosts more than 1,200 events annually in our historic buildings—educational, economic and cultural opportunities that add to the vibrancy of our community. With so many activities, programs, academic achievements and our growing engagement with the Portland region, we are excited to share what’s happening at UO Portland with you on a regular basis.

Please let me know if there are ways you would like to be connect with us, matters you are curious about, what you find of interest in our newsletter, or how you would like to see the UO partner in the Portland region. I would love to hear from you at  jgordon@uoregon.edu

Best,

Jane Gordon, vice provost for Portland
