Support incoming and returning students
Staff and faculty are the first campus resource that students access to support their personal, professional, and academic success. Where do you refer a student who is experiencing a personal crisis? What campus resources are available for students? How can you become a better advocate for student needs? We'll help you answer these questions, and more!
Explore student resources.
Refresh yourself on new and existing resources for student success by reading through our Student Life and Belonging website. If you have questions or want to explore ways to collaborate with our office, reach out to studentlifepdx@uoregon.edu. We also invite staff and faculty to attend the Campus Resource Fair on October 1 from 11:30am-1:30pm in the Campus Center. There, you can connect with new and returning students, delve deep into campus and community resources, and expand your knowledge about the student experience.
Learn about students and their needs.
Understanding the students that study on our campus is the first step in becoming a better advocate. Get to know our new and returning students by attending the Campus Resource and Activity Fair and Campus Quack-tacular on October 1. But don't stop there! Student Life organizes a variety of events throughout the academic year that are open to staff, faculty, alumni, and community partners. Check the weekly Quick Quack newsletter for information about Student Life events, professional development opportunities for students, and other important information regarding the student experience. Follow our Instagram @uopdxstudentlife to stay in-the-loop on campus updates and student resources.
Review tech troubleshooting before your first class.
With a new campus comes new technology, and we want to ensure that everything is smooth sailing on your first day of class! Review these instructions for classroom AV set up, and you'll be prepared to project your screen, connect to audio, and troubleshoot any technology challenges that may arise. If you do experience an issue with technology on campus, submit a ticket online to IT. For an urgent request, call 503-412-3666.
